Overview

Adam Oliver is fascinated by the nature of the animals he portrays. Especially the quirks that mark out the individuals. The horse that picks pockets, the pig that watches television, or the hogs that escape and make a bid for freedom across country. All his creatures have a poise and balance that gives them a little elegance despite their portly dimensions

Biography

Adam Oliver is fascinated by the nature of the animals he portrays. Especially the quirks that mark out the individuals. The horse that picks pockets, the pig that watches television, or the hogs that escape and make a bid for freedom across country. All his creatures have a poise and balance that gives them a little elegance despite their portly dimensions. From the acrobatic piglet to the sad, fat sow, every one has something of the personality of the animal, even if the subject has since become sausages. Adam's work ranges in scale from a tiny piece you could hold in your hand to life-size bronze boars. The common thread is a sense of humour and a sympathy for the runt of the litter.
