Works
Overview

'My hands were always filthy at school, covered in paint from the time I'd spent in the art studio. I've always loved the way paint stays with you no matter how hard you try to wash it off. Reminding you of the work you have done and what's still to come.'

Biography

After graduating in 2007, Kate spent 8 years working in advertising ignoring her instinct to create but in 2016 she decided to get back to her creative roots and pick up a paintbrush. She hasn't looked back.

Obsessed with colour, form, bold strokes and graphic shapes, Kate's paintings are driven by emotions following life experiences or topics she is passionate about. An abstract colourist, her colour palette inspiration can come from anywhere, from the colour of a house, an outfit she has seen on a stranger and quite often from nature.

Her pictures reveal captured moments, slices of time representing instants where clarity of an experience was seized, or a processing of an emotion was achieved. Whatever is happening in her life is reflected in her work. Working with mixed media, both acrylic and oil paint and also pastels.
