"The places we go to feel small - In storm lashed places, where the sky is never ending and the mountains blanket the land, where the wild is in charge and wind tears at the land, where clouds leak sunlight over lonely lands and oceans fall apart against the cliffs - I go to paint."

Sam is self-taught and is inspired by her travels to barren spaces and immense landscapes. Her travels to the isolated parts of the world have created a portfolio illustrating places often forgotten, beaten by extreme weather, and sometimes with harsh and unforgiving environments. These places create beautiful displays of light and atmosphere, give you space to breathe and have their own silent beauty.

Incredibly fascinated by how different people see the world and their differing feelings, responses and interaction with a landscape she uses mix mediums to capture the spirit and the mood of a space.
